Job Description

Planning Associate 2 to 6 PQE - Edinburgh or GlasgowAn international law firm is looking for a talented associate to join their highly regarded planning practice in Edinburgh or Glasgow.The role:The planning team represents a broad spectrum of clients, including prominent developers, energy firms, utilities, and public sector entities, in advancing significant energy & infrastructure and development projects.Responsibilities include development consent orders, compulsory purchase, and compensation matters, planning applications and appeals, s36 consents, marine licenses, EIA and HRA, public local inquiries, roads law matters, judicial review, asset protection matters,and substantial real estate and energy/infrastructure transactions.About you:

  • Hold a solicitor qualification with 0-6 years of PQE.
  • Showcase a keen interest and passion for energy & infrastructure consenting.
  • Possess substantial experience within a reputable planning team, with exposure to DCO and/or CPO work being advantageous.
  • Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Boast a solid academic background.
  • Display ambition for success and a dedication to fostering business growth and managing client relationships.
  • Possess a commercial mindset coupled with a commitment to innovation.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exhibit strong organisationalskills, proficient administration, and effective time management, with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
