Job Description

Job Introduction An opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant to join the Finance team at Fettes College. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and working alongside the wider Finance team, you will be directly responsible for the accurate and timely processingof the monthly staff payrolls.   • Extensive experience working within a Payroll environment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of payroll and pension administration
  • Up to date knowledge of current payroll legislation
  • Able to identify ways in which processes can be improved
  • Highly competent in the use of Excel
Desirable
  • Experience of PBS (CIPHR) payroll software would be advantageous.
  • Recognised payroll qualification
  • School background, eg teachers pensions, etc.
Skills and Attributes
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

About the school/organisation ABOUT FETTESFettes College is a leading HMC co-educational boarding and day school close to the heart of Edinburgh. It has a strong tradition of academic, sporting and cultural excellence underpinned by outstanding pastoral care. Fettes opened its doors in 1870 andbecame fully co-educational in 1980: it is now an independent school of some 785 students. There are 594 students in the Senior School (13-18 years) and 191 students in the Preparatory School (7-13 years).
