Lasers, Optics, Solid State, SolidWorks, DPSSEnigma People Solutions is searching for a Laser Engineer for our clients growing team in Edinburgh. you will contribute to the further development of this unique companies laser development process from ground up, building and testing laser assemblies,going through Quality Assurance processes, training less experienced members of the team and taking part in the manufacturing improvement processes.Our client develops and produces novel CW Single Frequency, Diode Pumped Solid State (DPSS) lasers for demanding applications in:Leading edge researchLifeSciences and associated BioMedical areasSemiconductor metrologyEnvironmental Metrology, and many othersThey are the only company to be able to configure Continuous Wave, Single Frequency Lasers to uniquely emit at any wavelength covering the spectral range from Near Infra-Red to Ultra-Violet from a single universal technology platform, using proprietary patentedBRaMMS technology.This novel patented technology provides reliable, cost effective, compact all-solid-state and class leading solutions for both well established and currently unavailable, but demanded, wavelengths. This opens up applications in portable and remotely controlledsystems and devices, which have been never before considered feasible.The role will involve Timely assembly and testing of all companys products Laser set up using sophisticated optical techniques Laser calibration using electronic control Fault diagnosis Introduction of assembly and product improvements Implementation of manufacturing process improvements Completing and improvement laser production documentation Analytical result monitoring and reporting Training of other team members Involvement in internal R&D Following clean room procedures and safety guidelinesTo be of interest you will be able to demonstratea Masters Degree level in Science/Engineering or Bachelors Degree level in Science/Engineering with 5+ years of experience in laser technology or related fields.
