Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and solution driven IT specialist to join our financial services firm of 250+ staff across 17 branches in Scotland and England.You will be responsible for implementing and managing secure IT infrastructure, hardware, and software solutions in a financial services environment, as well as taking on 1st line support to ensure continued smooth operations across the business.You will be based in our head office in Central Edinburgh (Walker Street), with hybrid working options available.Responsibilities:

  • Defining and implementing infrastructure in line with financial, regulatory and business requirements
  • Planning and managing employee hardware/software requirements
  • Ensuring information security and data protection is embedded within all activities
  • Managing third party vendors and service providers
  • Providing 1st line IT support
Please note that on-site travel may be required.Key Skills & Experience:
  • Proven track record in defining and implementing infrastructure strategies in line with financial, regulatory and business requirements.
  • Previous hands-on experience in the management of technology services, both in house and via 3rd party service providers.
  • Hands on experience in:
    • Supporting IT services - Windows 10 & 11, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, VOIP phone system (Horizon / Zoom)
    • Office hardware support - PCs & laptops, printers/scanners, telephones, router & WiFi AP management
    • User account management - Microsoft 365, Windows, Zoom, Webroot AV, Proofpoint email filter, Splashtop, Crossware email signatures
    • Server/web hosting - SMTP configuration, AWS, NAS drives, WHM/cPanel,
    • Supplier management - phone system, company mobile phones, internet providers, software licences
  • Practical experience in 3rd party contract negotiations
  • Experience of the UK Financial Services Industry
  • Robust experience of cyber security
