Job Description

Electrical Mate – Competitive – EdinburghThe RoleSPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking for an Electrical Mate to assist with carrying out the installation of electrical building services installations.The successful candidate will focus on the expected team behaviours for achieving significant results and outcomes for the business, helping SPIE to maintain its leading edge status within the industry and our reputation with our customers.The key responsibilities of an Electrical Mate include, but are not limited to:

  • To assist with carrying out electrical installation tasks as directed by site supervision teams
  • Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
  • To ensure quality installation standards are met.
    • The PersonThe key skills and qualities of an Electrical Mate:
  • Current (in date) SJIB Labourer ECS Grade Card.
  • Electrical Installation Introductory Course or recognised equivalent.
  • Knowledge of 18th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) BS7671; (preferred but not essential) as ongoing training will be provided.
  • Health and Safety Training; and
  • GCSE (or ‘O’ Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent; and
  • Experienced in electrical installation work.
  • Desirable: basic electrical experience/knowledge, basic CRB clearance within the past 8 weeks with Disclosure Scotland.
