Job Description

Would you like to join a company which is now embarking on an ambitious plan to build a large-scale flow battery demonstrator which requires experienced, flexible and dedicated people that are passionate about making a difference If Yes, thenthis could be an opportunity for you!About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team to support the delivery of our innovative energy storage projects. The successful candidate will be working as part of team, supporting a diverse range of projectswhich involve detailed design, grid connection, installation and commissioning to a high standard.You will be carrying out electrical system design and support installation and commissioning of small to large scale energy storage systems. Each project will require detailed design in accordance with relevant standards and regulations. Hands-on abilityand installation experience would be beneficial.The candidate will interact with a technically diverse, distributed team across StorTera and with external partners. We are seeking a candidate with the ability to work independently, think critically and analytically and apply knowledge effectively witha focus on innovation.Key Responsibilities:The key responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Design engineering including electrical systems, wiring diagrams, electrical circuits etc.
  • Planning test procedures and system testing support
  • Preparing tenders for the supply of electrical products and services
  • Being responsible for the project management of contracts and services
  • Overseeing all engineering aspects of our projects on-site
  • Managing on-site installation and commissioning works
  • Controlling costs and meet project deadlines
  • Problem-solving, and providing technical and hands on support
Essential Experience:
  • BSc or higher degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering
  • Basic knowledge of energy storage and renewable energy; a working knowledge of instrument wiring and panel wiring; and a sound understanding of all kinds of industrial electrical and electronic equipment and instruments
  • Domestic or industrial wiring experience, able to design electrical systems (including wiring diagrams), design simple electrical circuits and draw electrical diagrams and SLDs
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills with the ability to work on their own initiative and manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships easily
  • Can demonstrate commitment to high standards, society and the environment.
Engineers with 3 years+ experience in electrical design and installation of renewable energy/energy storage systems are preferred. Electrical engineers with a high level of hands-on experience are also encouraged to apply.Key Competencies:
