The Role As an EC&I Technician, you will be tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of all the electrical and control equipment and systems on site through day-to-day preventative maintenance and repairs. Monitoring equipment for any operational changes, youll identify any issues and carry out repairs, maintaining the highest possible standards of Safety and Environmental performance and overall quality. Youll assist with the organisation of maintenance activities and the development of a range of maintenance techniques and procedures, ensuring the optimal performance of the plant. Additionally, you will:- Manage contractors - Support outage planning, scheduling, co-ordination and management- Assist with the development of budgetsAbout YouTo be considered as an EC&I Technician, you will need:- Experience of working on a live process site - Experience of working with instrumentation or electrical equipment - Experience of supervising contractors- Experience of working in a technically challenging environment - Comprehensive knowledge of preventative maintenance and defect repair/interrogation on: DCS, PLCs, analogue and digital instrumentation - Knowledge of 415 V electrical systems- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics- An understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation - Knowledge of analogue and digital instrumentation calibration regimes- An understanding of P&IDs, loop checking and the ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and isometric drawings- A City and Guilds SVQ Level three in an electrical or instrumentation engineering discipline, or an equivalent qualification and/or practical experienceExperience of working on and the maintenance of an energy waste plant would be beneficial to your application, as would experience in the operation and/or maintenance of steam powered electricity generation equipment.Other organisations may call this role Instrument Technician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician, or Electrical Technician.Webrecruit and FCC Environment are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
