DevOps Engineer outside IR35

Job Description

DevOps Engineer FPSG are proudly working in partnership with our long term public sector client based in Glasgow & Edinburgh. This is a 6 month contract (outside IR35) with a possible extension, with a date rate of £420 - £500 per day (DOE)Although we are working a hybrid working module, you will be expected to join on site team / project meetings either in Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.The company work on a mixture of cloud and traditional technology which was established to design and build a high quality support of resilient platforms. There is a strong collaborative and agile culture offering a multi-functional team to be part of. Previousexperience working within the public sector would be highly advantageous.Main Objectives:

• Design, build and deliver of our OpenShift 4.x platform on AWS.
• Identify and deliver improvements that support our scalable and resilient platform.
• Design, build and support code-driven solutions for CI/CD, Monitoring, Logging.
• Work directly with product teams to guide them into solving real time problems.
• Support in the design, build and delivery of our monitoring, alerting, metrics.
• Support development of a hybrid application model.
• Design and support a Jira platform service offering with a change and test pipeline.
• Support, maintain and evolve the current delivery platform including Artifactory, GitLab, ElasticSearch, InfluxDB, Jetbrains.
• Design, build and support an automated method for building Ubuntu machines.
• Building and maintaining an agile culture of continuous delivery and improvement.
• Creating and maintaining an appropriate level of documentation, including technical options assessments that can be effectively used to communicate.

• Working in the Agile delivery models - such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks Successful candidate will be a self-sufficient innovator who is keen to use new technologies.
