Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh and Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Commercial & Supply Chain Specialist for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate of£588/day (Inside IR35). This role isbased on site with the occasional travel between regional offices. Responsibilities:- Lead the development of procurement and supply chain pathways, feeding into the procurement strategy and commercial case of the Outline and Full Business Cases- Provide procurement strategic advice with regards to the purchase of the services required to deliver the national cladding remediation programme – in conjunction with corporate procurement- Deliver client advisory services on procurement and supply chain process and policy- Support the team in the development of tender documents, and evaluation of tenders- Provide commercial management and contractual risk advice to the wider programme, including review of cost information and assurance- Provide support to Project Managers within the team in the measurement and assessment of contractor change and in the production of change papers for approval- Undertake high-level supply chain mapping to understand the current and future programme demand requirements, liaising with national organisations and professional bodies to drive the development of a relevant and competent supply chainEssential Skills:- Proven track record in the development and delivery of procurement strategies in multi-billion pounds programmes- Excellent knowledge of Public Procurement Regulations, OJEU and EU Directives.- Demonstrated experience with NEC contract forms.- Experienced in commercial and contract management, including review of cost estimates of contract packages - Good understanding of the supply chain issues and key players, with excellent relationships established across the industry.- Able to lead others- Able to communicate and engage- able to improve performance where necessary- Able to analysis and use of evidence- Hold a degree (or appropriate equivalent level qualification) in Project or Construction Management- Full member of a relevant professional body, such as RICS, RIBA, ICE, or equivalent.Desirable Skills:- Experience working in a high-pressure incident management environment related to buildings with acute risks e.g. fire risks.- Experience working in a directly comparable environment e.g. cladding remediation or fire engineering field.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
