Excellent opportunity for a Competition & Trade Associate to advance their career at a highly regarded, future facing law firm based in Edinburgh.About the roleThe Competition and Trade team consists of over 20 competition lawyers and is part of the wider international CMS Competition Group consisting of more than 180 competition lawyers worldwide. CMS Competition and Trade team advises on a broad range of matters including competition enforcement issues, merger control, public procurement, State Aid, and regulatory matters. The team recently won Competition Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2020 and is looking to expand its offering in Edinburgh, with a particular focus on public procurement and State Aid work. The team works with clients across a range of sectors, including the public sector and utilities, construction and infrastructure, lifesciences, technology and media and financial services. Our clients are based in Scotland, the rest of the UK and internationally. The role is varied and will involve advising on:* public procurement (both contentious and non-contentious)* State Aid* competition compliance* regulatory investigations* merger controlAbout youThe right candidate will be either Scots and/or E&W qualified with at least 3yrs PQE. In addition to competition experience, the successful candidate should have a strong interest in public procurement work, ideally with an EU law and/or public sector background.
