Job Description

Approved Electrician- Competitive Salary- EdinburghThe RoleAre you experienced in electrical installation work and electrical testing and inspection Do you possess a Current (in date) SJIB Approved Electrician ECS Grade Card If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.SPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking to appoint an Approved Electrician to carry out the installation, testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical building services installations.SPIE UK carries out commercial, industrial and hazardous area works.Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of an Approved Electrician include, but are not limited to:

  • To carry out electrical installation tasks as directed by site supervision teams.
  • Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
  • To ensure quality installation standards are met.
  • To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all electrically related job requirements on the project.
  • Assist other trades as necessary.
  • To comply with security protocol within the site environment.
  • To remain focussed on delivery of the project to the satisfaction of the client.
  • To work with a right first time attitude within the business.
  • To be committed to working in integrated mechanical and electrical teams.
The PersonThe key skills and qualities of an Approved Electrician are:
  • Current (in date) SJIB Approved Electrician ECS Grade Card.
  • City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) Registration or recognised equivalent.
  • Health and Safety Training.
  • COMPEX is desirable but not essential.
  • GCSE (or O Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent.
  • Experienced in electrical installation work, plus electrical testing and inspection.
  • Basic Mechanical experience/knowledge (Desirable).
  • Supervisory experience for future development (Desirable).
  • Basic CRB Clearance within the past 8 weeks with Disclosure Scotland (Desirable).
