Job Description

Apprenticeship Skills Coach/Assessor - ConstructionLocation: ScotlandSalary: £42,750 Additional Benefits: Company Car or Allowance of £5252, 25 Days Holiday + Bank HolidaysPertemps are currently working with a highly recognised national training provider employing over 800 dedicated professionals. They have a strong commitment to providing quality education and training, who play a pivotal role in shaping the future workforcein the construction industry. They are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Apprenticeship Skills Coach to join their dynamic team.As an Apprenticeship Skills Coach, you will be responsible for providing high-quality coaching and guidance to apprentices within the construction sector. Including subjects such as: Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Brickwork etc. You will play a crucial rolein supporting and assessing learners progress, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen career path. This position is mobile and you will need to be able to travel across Scotland.Key Responsibilities of the Apprenticeship Skills Coach/Assessor

  • Delivering effective training and coaching sessions to apprentices, both on-site and in classroom settings, ensuring the delivery meets the requirements of the apprenticeship standards.
  • Supporting apprentices in developing their vocational skills, knowledge, and behaviours, providing constructive feedback and guidance throughout their learning journey.
  • Conducting regular assessments and progress reviews, monitoring apprentices performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with employers and other stakeholders to ensure apprentices receive appropriate support and guidance in the workplace.
  • Maintaining accurate records of apprentices progress, assessments, and evidence, using relevant systems and documentation.
  • Monitoring and reporting on apprentices compliance with the apprenticeship standards, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Supporting the apprenticeship recruitment process, including conducting initial assessments and interviews.
  • Building positive relationships with apprentices, employers, and other stakeholders, acting as a mentor and role model for professional and personal development
Qualifications and Experience of the Apprenticeship Skills Coach:
  • A solid understanding of apprenticeship programs including Skills, Knowledge, Behaviours and End Point Assessment
  • Possession of a relevant Assessors Award
  • Possession of a Teaching qualification would be desirable
  • Relevant industry experience in the construction sector, mainly Joinery is essential
  • Qualified to a SQV L3 or SCQF L6 in Joinery, Painting & Decorating or Brickwork
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate apprentices.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage documentation and progress tracking.
  • Knowledge of assessment methods and techniques, including the ability to conduct fair and accurate assessments.
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship funding rules and regulatory requirements.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel to different sites
