We need Network Engineers to work with high profile public and commercial clients,improving systems that make the everyday easier. This role can be based from either Edinburgh or Scottish Borders and will be based from the office 1-2 days per week.Networks Engineers provide 3rd line support working on incidents, changes and projects with a wide range of networking and /or voice technologies and infrastructure. They also support engineers at 1st and 2nd line.You will specialise in either data or voice so this Career Level Description covers both areas and applies to whichever is most relevant to the member in their current role. Your future duties and responsibilitiesAnalyses and resolves incidents occurring on network/voice infrastructureAnalyses standard and some complex change requests on network/voice infrastructure, develop plans, implement and test.Analyses problems on network/voice infrastructure, developing and implementing long-term solutionsInstalls, upgrades, tests, audits, and documents network/voice infrastructureImplements, upgrades, populates and maintains a Network/Voice Management SystemSupports business continuity testing that involves network/voice infrastructureAdvises customers, account teams, other technical teams, and management on matters relating to incidents, changes, and problems on network/voice infrastructureProvides on-call support on a rota basis as requiredCarries out field visits to customer remote locations as requiredWorks within CGI and customer Data Centres.Network EngineeringWorks with the minimum of supervision, demonstrating a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to work.Assumes responsibility for discrete areas of work and understand the commercial framework within which they operate.Assume responsibility for areas of technical work that demand specialist knowledge and understanding.Recognises specific business needs within the client organisation and follows up with relevant CGI managers.Accepts most changes related to network/voice infrastructure into BAU supportImplements standard changes related to network/voice infrastructure Required qualifications to be successful in this roleRequired qualifications to be successful in this roleKey SkillsAruba Layer 2 / 3 Switch/ Switch Stack Support and ConfigurationAruba Wireless Controllers / APs / AirwaveFortinet Firewall technologies / Fortiweb / FortiADCCisco ASA / Firepower technologiesCisco Nexus Switches / Cisco IOS switches Insights you can act onWhile technology is at the heart of our clients digital transformation, we understand that people are at the heart of business success.When you join CGI, you become a trusted advisor, collaborating with colleagues and clients to bring forward actionable insights that deliver meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
