Job Description

We are exclusively partnered with an exciting SME who have grown from 6million turnover to 20million in the past 5 years. Employing in excess of 80 people in their manufacturing facility in Ebbw Vale and having coverage of a global customer base the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the following:Summary:The purpose of the role is to manage the sourcing and timely delivery of raw materials into the business through to the manufacturing environment. It is also to ensure the delivery of finished goods through to the customer base in a timely manner and in line with customers expectations, liaising closely with production management to ensure that the highest possible customer satisfaction.Key objectives are to develop strategies to reduce costs, and to increase efficiency and productivity whilst maintaining the highest standards from a safety perspective.

  • Second sourcing of critical supplies and benchmarking of pricing for all other suppliers
  • Driving cost downs throughout the supplier base
  • Team leadership, motivation and development
  • Improve administration systems, including the development of appropriate KPIs
  • Ensure customs compliance for all imported supplies
  • Organisation and control of materials and packaging to meet production and customer demands
  • Stores organisation and planning (at both sites and in the stores yard)
  • Maintaining stores procedure records and customer packaging specifications
  • Management of all external consignment stock locations, including periodic benchmarking of costs
  • Effective and improved procurement of logistics services
    • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Professional qualification in Supply Chain Management; Logistics and / or Procurement
  • A proven track record of supply chain management in an export-led manufacturing environment
  • Experience of negotiating with international suppliers and a proven track record of alternative sourcing and driving cost downs through the supply base
  • International logistics experience including consignment stock arrangements
  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualified would be advantageous
  • An understanding of continuous improvement and related techniques (such as six sigma / 5s)
  • Knowledge of EFACS (ERP System) would be useful but not essential
    • This is an end to end Supply Chain Management position with a real opportunity to have and see an impact on the business as it continues its upwards trajectory.There is a full JD available for interested candidates. Required skills
