Job Description

Vetro Education are seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work in Primary schools in Ebbw Vale. We have placements available in multiple Primary schools around Blaenau Gwent. The schools support learners in bothKey Stage 1 and Key stage 2 and as a result Vetro Education are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants in or around Ebbw Vale who are experienced in these rolesAs a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education will give you the opportunity to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.Overview:

  • Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Pay: £85.00 per day minimum
  • Location: Abergavenny
  • Hours: Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm
  • Start Date: January 9th

The role: What youll be doing as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Deliver pre-planned work to the class in the absence of the Class Teacher
  • Supporting and supervising educational games, sports and craft activities
  • Helping children with their reading
  • Preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Working with pupils in small groups/ and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
  • Assist pupils at break time with their lunch
  • Engage pupils in the classroom and out of classroom activities
  • Work in accordance to the schools behaviour management policies
The candidate: What youll need to be successful as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role would be beneficial
  • Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or degree educated as a minimum
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
