Job Description

Opportunity for a development scientist to join an expanding and growing company who is already a leading name in their industry. The company is part of a larger global group of companies that produces profits of close to £500million and employing 10,000+ staff around the world. The South Wales site is one of the leading companies in Europe in their field and pride themselves on the innovation they are able to provide their clients.The role offers the chance to work as part of a busy development department in a customer facing role providing technical guidance relating to the delivery of new products. It is a new position that has been created due to further growth in the business and will involve the successful NPD scientist working closely with the NPD manager, development team and sales and commercial teams within the company.Development scientist duties will include:

  • Working with the NPD and commercial teams to identify new opportunities for innovative products
  • Undertaking market and scientific research focused on new and emerging trends in the industry
  • Supporting account managers and customers with development knowledge and support (including direct contact with key customers, both in person and remotely)
  • Providing theoretical new product proposals to customers and prospects
  • Assisting with the preparation of marketing materials
  • Some formulation and laboratory scale development work including lab scale product development and preparing samples for assessment
  • To apply for the development scientist role, you will need:
  • A degree-level qualification in a relevant scientific subject (Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, Forensic Science, etc.)
  • Industry experience in a commercial, technical sales or new product development focused role in a relevant industry such as pharmaceutical, chemistry, health & beauty, supplements, health and wellbeing, etc.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • A Full UK Drivers License, access to your own transport and the ability to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas as required.
