Job Description

A superb opportunity for a Peripatetic Manager has arisen to join this well-respected group of care homes with a great ethos and reputation across the West Midlands and South-West of England.With community-based residential care settings, they support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge.You will work closely with the Quality Team, Service Managers and Operations Directors in the monitoring and embedding of managing people and resources to ensure high quality standards of care and service are delivered to regulatory, contractual and company standards.Please note, this role will involve extensive travel across the West Midlands & the South West of England with overnight stays required on a regular basis. Accommodation costs will be covered.Key Responsibilities of a Peripatetic Manager:

  • Overall responsibility for site leadership where a service is currently without permanent management, or provide support to existing site leadership where additional support may be required with quality, finance and business development.
  • Ensure that all service user documentation and records are maintained to a high standard in a timely manner, and that a programme of meaningful activities is available to all residents. Implement appropriate systems to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Lead the implementation of new services, drives referrals and admissions and share best practice with other sites and the wider team
  • Motivate, monitor and coach Service Managers to ensure they are delivering services of the optimum quality
  • Peripatetic Manager Requirements:
  • Extensive travel and overnight stays will be required. The role may require you to be based at a site full time for an undefined period, meaning staying away from home throughout the week.
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent the post holder will have extensive experience of managing and leading ‘good’ adult social care services and have knowledge and experience of managing change and site turnaround.
  • Will have detailed and up to date knowledge of the social care industry, regulatory matters and current best practice.
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential for the role as is regular CPD to ensure the role holder is up to date and credible in a wide range of areas. In addition, they will be expected to undergo specific statutory and regulatory training as the role requires from time to time.
