We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to theirlives.The roleGlasgow Health and Social Care Partnership have commissioned an exciting new service in the South of the City to work alongside families in a flexible and strengths based way to help them achieve positive outcomes. As part of a city-wide strategy, the servicewill promote the wellbeing of children and young people aged 0-12 years to support them to stay at home and thrive with their families within their local communities by offering the right support at the right time.Our shared vision is to support childrenand young people to live with their parents and siblings, or where this is in the best interest of children, with their extended family, enabling them to grow up in their community with their friends, and attend their local school.An assessment of need will beundertakentoidentifyneeds, strengths andchallengesthat each family faces, the intensiveinterventionswill involve advice, guidance, parentingsupport, 1:1 work with children andliaisingwith partner agencies.The FamilySupportWorkerswill be part of amulti-disciplinaryteam with families tosupportand enable positive change and to improve outcomes. Youll join a team with an opportunity to work supporting and providing outcomes to families.You will help ourChildren and YoungPeople by:-Achieving the highest standards of safeguarding, whether through direct care provision or support activities to the children and young peoplewho come into contact with our services, or by appropriatelyreporting concerns about any child or young person.-Promote our equality and diversity strategy locally, including linking with local equality and diversity frameworks to ensure best practice and to inform and develop appropriate action plans.-Workingcollaborativelywithcolleaguesand families to achieve positive outcomes.-Listening to children, young people and families.-Working in anintegratedway as part of a dynamicmultidisciplinaryteam.What are we looking for from you:-SVQ3 in socialcareor equivalent.-Working within a multi-agency social care, early years or health environment and applying safeguarding procedures-Experience of working alongside case holders to manage cases, in accordance with agreed procedures and completing assessments, planning and reviews to ensure positive outcomes-Experience of working withvulnerablefamilies and a broad understanding of their barriers.-Understandingofsafeguarding.-Ability tocommunicateeffectivelyverbally, in writing and throughpresentations.-Driving licence and access to a suitable means of transport to enable to the duties of the role to be carried out effectively.Working here is so much more than a job.
