We intendto play a leading role in new nuclear build in the UK and secure a bright future for the combined business and its employees Background EDF Renewables UK is a joint venture between EDF Energy and EDF Energies Nouvelles (together the Shareholders).EDF Renewables UK is responsible for delivering the UK strategy in renewables and managing all the related activities on behalf of the Shareholders.Hence,EDF Renewables UK is responsible for developing, constructing and operating the Shareholders renewable assets in the UK.EDF Renewables UK currently operates circa 1 GW (33 onshore and 2 offshore wind farms), and has almost 4 GW in planning and development.Inaddition, EDF Renewables UK develops a large portfolio of projects at various stages of development and of different technologies (e.g. solar and battery technology).In managing its business, EDF Renewables UK acquires and disposes of projects and/or portfolioswith the objective of delivering continuous and sustainable growth and value to its Shareholders.EDF Renewables UKs objective is to grow from circa 1 GW generation to 6 GW generation over the next decade and to play a pivotal role in the net zero carbonemissions target for the UK. The role The Financial Reporting & Planning Manager is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of external financial reporting, including any regular financial accounting requirements. The roles owns the external audit process from end to end to ensure thatit runs smoothly and actions are completed. Principal Accountabilities Responsible for the integrity and assurance of the financial ledgers and financial controls. Lead the planning for EDF Renewables UK and Irelands financial reporting processes, including monthly reporting, formal forecasts, medium-term plan and investment survey.For these processes, lead the consolidation of the asset teams results to present thetotal view. Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting, formal forecasts, medium-term plans and investment surveys, including their submission into the financial systems of our shareholders Manage and lead the change in the financial systems used with EDF Renewables UK and Ireland including contributing to the establishment of new companies within the reporting systems. Lead the identification and implementation of continuous improvements to processes and information to meet changing customer needs. Work with EDF Energy Finance Shared Services (FSS) to determine which activities can be transferred to the FSS team. Manage the provision of external audit requirements to quality and time and the identification and delivery of improvements to this process. Ensure that accounting policies are created, developed, implemented and operating effectively across EDF Renewables UK and Ireland. Plan and lead the statutory accounts process for EDF Renewables UK and Ireland and the production of those accounts under UK/ROI GAAP to ensure a smooth audit process and timely completion. Liaise with the Senior Tax Manager to ensure tax compliance of EDF Renewables UK and Ireland Lead the development of the Financial Reporting & Planning knowledge to keep ahead of changes to standards and laws. Deliver documentation on the teams key processes Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Must have an accounting qualification (ACA/ CIMA/ ACCA) with several years post-qualification experience in a similar role. Very strong knowledge of both UK GAAP and IFRS, experience of preparing statutory accounts and the confidence to apply them to practical examples is essential Strong experience of implementing and developing accounting policies, processes and systems. Must have experience of presenting detailed financial information to finance and non-finance audiences up to Director level, adapting the message accordingly. Must have experience of leading the delivery of financial planning and analysis, including financial modelling. Ideally will have line management experience, or can demonstrate leadership capability through experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues. Experience of the energy or services industry is desirable. Functional & Technical Skills Able to manage, coach, mentor and develop and small team of finance professionals. Able to provide robust but diplomatic challenge to managers, based on evidence and analysis. Have consulting skills to ask the right questions and get to the route of issues. Able to work as part of a team across different business functions and with colleagues at Director level. Able to work in a fast paced organisation and prioritise conflicting activities. Strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Act with complete integrity and confidentiality. Committed to continuous improvement and development of skills and knowledge.
