Job Description

Our Client is a forward looking, sustainable SME engaged in the packing and distribution of solvents to various industries including the pharmaceutical, flavour and fragrances, cosmetics, and beverage sectors. They are a growing company regarded as expertsin their industry.They are now seeking a Sales Manager - Solvents - Cosmetics & Household Products Industries. This position will be home based with regular travel throughout the UK and occasional visits to the office. It is a full-time permanent role reportingto the Sales Director.Job Purpose

  • To manage all aspects of the relationship between the company and allocated UK customers within the cosmetics and household products industries. (Plus a few allocated customers in the EU).
  • To develop new business through growth and diversification and take responsibility for the delivery of sales targets and other objectives
Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate contract agreements with customers in line with the objectives, targets and strategy of the business
  • Communicate with customers as required through visits, emails, telephone calls and other forms of communication; to promote the company and its products and services, and to establish the customers requirements
  • Travel as required for the effective performance of the role
  • Coordinate the supply of information to customers in support of the business relationship. This will include technical enquiries, questionnaires, complaints, contracts, specifications and other information as required
  • Communicate all aspects of customers contracts to colleagues and to take full ownership of the contract negotiation and communication process
  • Investigate potential new customers, markets, and products in line with the objectives, targets and strategy of the business
  • Complete reports on customer contact as a record of important discussions and agreements within the systems operated by the company
  • Project a positive and professional image on behalf of the company at all times
  • Produce sales reports as requested; attend sales meetings, new product development meetings and other relevant meetings as requested, and to contribute as required towards the management and development of the business
  • Actively support and suggest sustainable goals linked to the role including environment, colleagues, and stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience
  • Chemistry Degree (or equivalent / similar)
  • Extensive technical and commercial experience
  • Familiarity of the solvents industry
  • Negotiation skills and general commercial understanding
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of both suppliers & competitors and market dynamics.
  • Capable of dealing with decision makers at all levels and with customers ranging from small businesses to major multinationals.
  • Ability to work proactively and take responsibility for managing existing customers and developing new business opportunities.
  • Good IT and administrative skills
  • Full driving licence
