Job Description

My client is the leading supplier into the rail sector. As a full service provider they offer customers a variety of services from cradle to grave. They are now looking for a well experienced procurement specialist to join the team with the option to bebased from either the Derby, Doncaster, Leicester sites. This role will involve travel to various sites as well as meetings with suppliers.Role & Responsibilities

  • This role will be tasked with ensuring that all projects run smoothly from cradle to grave and that everything is place for them to be carried out from materials to staff.
  • Carry out the Subcontract and tender procurement process ensuring that as a business the subcontractor has everything in place to be able to work with the business.
  • Picking the scopes if the contracted agreements
  • Involved in the bids process
  • Select the correct subcontract suppliers
  • Coming up with the SLA ( service Level agreement) and setting KPI within this agreement
  • Look at the subcontractors social values & carbon footprint to ensure that it is in line with the businesses
  • Ensure that projects do not start prior to the contracts being signed and agreed.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience working within the rail industry
  • Solid experience in dealing/ engaging with subcontractors
  • 5 years + experience in a procurement role ( Senior Buyer/ Purchasing Manager)
  • All-round procurement specialist
  • MCIPS qualified
  • Driving license is essential
