Job Description

Electrical Generator EngineerNorthern England / Midlands Salary: £26,000 - £45,000 + overtimeThe position comes with a service vehicle, laptop, BUPA, factory training courses etc.The CompanyOur client is a leading emergency power specialist based centrally in Lancashire, specialising in the supply, installation and maintenance of emergency power systems and looking to appoint an Electrical Generator Engineer for Northern England/Midlands.The Role You will have experience in the diesel generator field, installing and testing installations ranging from basic AMF to more complex peak lopping and paralleling systems.Role Responsibilities:

  • Electrical installation of all control and power cabling between the generator, changeover panels, switchboards, ancillary equipment such as fuel controls, louver controls, BMS controls etc, testing of all the installation to the NICEIC requirements andrecording all test results.
  • On-site testing of the installation to clients specifications and any associated fault finding and modification work, including any reprogramming requirements.
  • Competence with DSE, COMAP & Woodward control panels would be an advantage.
Additional Duties:
  • Call Out Rotaapproximately 1 week in 8
  • Generator servicing and maintenance at customer premises
  • Generator Load Testing
  • Generator & UPS commissioning
  • Generator & UPS fault finding
  • Generator & UPS electrical repairs
Essential Skills & Requirements:
  • Min 5 years experience working in the diesel generator installation field
  • Min 2 years experience as a diesel generator commissioning engineer
  • Knowledge of a variety of manufacturers equipment
  • NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electronic / Electrical
  • City & Guilds 2832 - 18th Edition IEE Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2395 / 2396 or 2392 / 2391 - Inspect & Test
  • Manufacturers Training Courses
  • Working as a team
  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Clean CRB check
Essential Requirements
  • Served a recognised electrical apprenticeship
  • Computer literateMS Word, Excel, plc languages and other software an advantage
  • Experience in a variety of Alternator makes and types
  • Experience in diesel engine diagnostics
  • Happy to multitask
  • Can Do Attitude
  • All of the above with UPS experience
