GBR Recruitment Ltd, are proudly representing a main contractor construction company (all build types) recruiting for an experienced Construction Lawyer (Lawyer or Solicitor) to join their in-house legal team as the no.2 within the department(team of 5).This is a varied & diverse role, working as the companies legal representative on construction projects worth £250K up to £20M+ supplying into all sectors, inc. Sports & Leisure, Commercial, Industrial (Factory & Warehouse DC builds), Education,Healthcare, Retail & more.Ideally you will have worked for, or on behalf of, a main contractor or construction company, or have had exposure to construction litigation / construction contracts T&Cs (JCT, NEC etc.) & legalities, or you could be from a Law practice background specialisingin Construction laws & all things built environment, seeking a move in-house.This is an ideal role for a Lawyer / Solicitor with 3-4 years PQE experience within a Construction / Built Environment arena of some sorts (Main Contractor, Sub Contractor Services, Property Law, M&E Services, Surveying Services etc).Duties:

a Legal Business Partner to Senior Management / Stakeholders, giving professional advice on all legal / compliance / contractual activities inc. day to day project challenges & obstacles, contractual documentation, building contracts legalities, schedulesof amendments, collateral warranties, mainly transactional tasks, but also some pre-action matters (occasional only).
Review tender documents, highlighting any legal risks / potential issues.
Responsible for reviewing, negotiating & drafting a variety of construction contracts inc. NEC, JCT & other bespoke contractual agreements,
A key role in all things legislation & compliance.
Dealing with other tasks such as debt recovery & adjudications.
Contract litigation duties (occasional).
Supporting new building services & building maintenance services.
Dealing with tenants leases & all lease documentation (long & short term property rentals).

Attributes needed:

CILEX qualified Lawyer / Solicitor specialising in Construction / Property law.
3-4 years PQE within a Commercial business, ideally a Construction business
Up to date with construction law & CDM regulations (2015 & 2023)
Strong communicator.
