Job Description

Competency Development Manager - Cemap - Midlands RegionFulltime Monday to FridayWere looking to expand our amazing Compliance team to deliver our innovative, tech driven T&C Scheme. Reporting to one of our Regional Field Operations Managers, our CDMs are responsible for implementation of the Training and Competency scheme incorporatingHigh Risk Advisers, Key Firm Accounts, and training and development of new advisers to full competence.   • Effective supervision of Advisers within your span of control ensuring:
o Promptly raise any concerns or areas of Risk associated with Advisers and AR Firmso All new Advisors achieve fully competent (FC) status within required time limitso Support Academy Advisers through ATT-IC-FC, completing extra checks where required, depending on level of competency.Provide L&D support for assessments/roleplays etcAssist with workshops providing support where appropriate in order to support the Adviser journeyUse observation skills to identify areas of concern or development need of Advisors and address promptly putting development plans in place where necessaryProvide relevant support throughout journey appropriate to adviser experienceSupporting advisers to deliver excellent customer service and a consistent TCF customer journeyCarry out side by side and/or remote coaching and provide feedback.Work closely with Approved Persons to ensure training priorities are met within timelinesRegular updates & completion of relevant back office system to ensure audit trail for activities completedComplete regular reviews of AR firms to ensure effectiveness of controls within the business, providing a report with a summary of findings and action plan to the relevant Approved Person (Larger AR Firms and Key Accounts)Complete follow up where required to ensure action or development points have been completed within timescales and provide guidance and assistance where neededEffectively handle any regulatory or compliance queries received from AR firms & Advisors, raising any action points as necessary, acting as first point of contactIdentify and manage risk within the business (to include quality of client files, advice quality, advice process, new advisers moving through scheme, operating procedures etc.)Regular updates & completion of relevant back office system to ensure audit trail for activities completedAudit of new ARs when required ensuring that all activity & documentation meet the necessary standardWorking closely with Advice Quality, to ensure that all checks are followed up and any issues are dealt with promptlyAnalysis of provided tech data (through agreed systems) to identify areas of concern or development of Advisers, and input appropriate development plansShare best practice with other colleagues to continually build knowledge and promote consistencyProactively provide holiday/absence cover for the team as determined by managementWillingness & ability to travel within the field to enable required levels of supervisionEffectively contribute to Team meetingsEnsure adherence to the T&C scheme at all times, at all levelsEnsure all relevant regulatory knowledge is kept up to dateAny other duties as requested by management in line with areas of compliance to meet business needsProactively contribute to the wider compliance teams to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiencyEnsure that there is a consistent approach to compliance and regulatory policyAbout You!

What youll need:
  • CEMAP or equivalent financial services qualification
  • Good Microsoft Office Knowledge (Word/Excel)
