Our client is a market leader in the manufacture of high quality welding and cutting products primarily focusing on torches for manual use, semi and fully automatic operations. Due to their continued growth and success they are now looking to appoint an Area Sales Manager to further develop their UK business.The Role Reporting to the UK Managing Director, this position covers the region between Sheffield and North London along the A1/M1 corridor, an already successful territory. Along with the management of existing account, the role will also be responsible for developing new business in the area.The primary focus of the role is to manage current accounts with a 75/25 split on existing business. The focus will be on distribution partners and developing strong relationships through regular site visits and training. Where new business is concerned, the role will be hands on, identifying and acting on potential leads, providing trials of new products and supporting new accounts in order to achieve the best results.Key responsibilities will also include; establishing and maintaining relationships with key personnel within the distributors, securing long term growth by progressively refining and expanding the product portfolio with key partners, monitoring the competition by evaluating market research and adjusting sales strategy to meet changing market conditions and preparing regular sales reports.The IndividualThe previous track record of this individual will include a proven sales record, the ability to meet fast paced internal and external demands, experience of increasing sales turnover from new and existing customers, a full working knowledge of budget expectations, margin restraints and logistics.Experience of supplying to the welding market is desirable, though experience with tools, abrasives, fixings, pumps, hire equipment and other industrial consumable applications will be considered. Ideally the individual will have an ability to weld to a reasonable level, however training in this area can be provided.Passionate about the Welding & Cutting industry, the successful candidate with be motivated to exceed expectation in the role, adapting quickly to changes within the market place, communicating well across all levels both internally and externally, as well as seeing opportunities through a high level of commercial acumen.
