Meridian are recruiting for a Ground Support Engineer Technician to work at East Midlands Airport for one of our clients.the position is full time and pays £18 per hour. starts vary between 4AM to 8AM, with 40 working hours a week on a 5 over 7 days rota.A Ground Support Engineer Technician is a professional responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services for ground support equipment (GSE) used in aviation operations. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning and safety of variousequipment, such as aircraft tugs, baggage loaders, ground power units and air conditioning units, among others.Key tasks of the job include:

To maintain company mechanical systems and associated equipment to required standards.

• Carry out weekly inspections on Airside Ground Support Equipment and vehicles (Diesel, Electric), Hydraulic equipment.• Carry out repairs to Airside Ground Support Equipment and vehicles (Diesel, Electric), Hydraulic equipment.• Carry out planned inspections/servicing on Airside Ground Support Equipment and vehicles (Diesel, Electric), Hydraulic equipment, in accordance with maintenance schedules• Report and rectify defects found on Airside Ground Support Equipment and vehicles (Diesel, Electric), Hydraulic equipment.• Complete Airside Ground Support Equipment and vehicles (Diesel, Electric), Hydraulic equipment service records on Maintenance system• Complete Airside Ground Support Equipment and vehicles (Diesel, Electric), Hydraulic equipment service sheets• Assist in the maintenance of Airside Ground Support Equipment and vehicles (Diesel, Electric), Hydraulic equipment with other team members• Follow maintenance manuals including electrical and hydraulic schematics• Comply with H+S Legislation• Liaise effectively with colleagues with regards to maintenance requests• Liaise with internal customers• Assist in the maintenance of the GSE elements of EMA Hub to keep all Vehicles functional at all times. • Assist in carrying out all vehicle mechanical and electrical PPM (Planned and Preventative Maintenance) in line with set schedules for EMA Hub to comply with legislative compliance’s. • Support in responding to call out queries and carry out repairs as required.• Follow mechanical maintenance procedures for the EMA Hub• Liaise effectively with Colleagues with regards to maintenance requests. • Assist in ensuring the mechanical components of the EMA Hub are functional and installed within best practice, H&S and regulatory guide lines.Requirements for the Job• Experience maintaining Airport Ground Support Equipment/Plant Equipment/Forklift Trucks/Electric vehicles• Trained Mechanic to at least City and Guild 381/382/383 qualifications in Heavy vehicle/plant equipment maintenance or equivalent qualifications• Knowledge of hydraulics and of vehicle electrics• Welding and Fabricating• Use of Oxy/Acetylene equipment• DIY skills preferred.• Full driving licence and FLT licence preferable.• Skilled with use of all power tools associated with mechanical maintenance.• H&S awareness.This role is Temporary for at least 6 months with the chance to go Permanentbased on performance.
