Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Monitoring and Concerns Officer to join our Fitness to Practise Directorate and support the organisation by monitoring the compliance of pharmacy registrants? ability to practise, thereby ensuring public protection and safety.Closing date: 8th January 2020Interview date: 21st/22nd January with telephone interviews preceding this.The roleThe Monitoring and Concerns Officer is at the front of our fitness to practise process and is responsible for ensuring public protection and safety by monitoring compliance with restrictions imposed on a registrant?s ability to practise.Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment the successful incumbent will be committed to providing excellent customer service and maintaining a tailored, proportionate, efficient and effective approach whilst acting as the initial decision maker in the fitness to practise process.The successful applicant will:

  • Make initial decisions as to whether a concern raised should be closed or referred for further investigation.
  • Make decisions as to the progression and recommended outcome for cases involving restrictions on a registrant?s practise and for deciding whether a breach or restrictions has occurred.
  • Keep accurate records of all decisions made and make sure that reported concerns are dealt with according to priority and in a timely, robust fashion.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective communication with all parties involved.
