Job Description

Financial Accountant£50,000 - £55,000 + exceptional benefitsCentral London based - Hybrid (1 day in office per week)If you are looking for a broad Accountant role within a friendly, inclusive and people centric business then this could be a great role for you.For this role you will need to be a qualified accountant, either from a practise background looking to make first move into industry or qualified accountant from industry with experience in financial accounting.This business is an instantly recognisable brand and is one of the most people focused businesses we work with. They have a tenured finance function with strong systems and a roadmap to keep up with technological development.Statutory accounting and audit:

  • Assist the Financial Controller with preparation of statutory accounts for the Group.
  • Prepare analysis and relevant notes to support the statutory disclosures.
  • Ensure statutory accounts are fully compliant with accounting regulations i.e. FRS 102
  • Be a key stakeholder in the delivery of the annual audit exercise, with support from the finance team, through the creation of other supporting schedules and production of proofing analysis, where appropriate
  • Coordinating the extract of financial records as part of the audit process
  • Provide support with timely and accurate responses to auditor requests.
  • Ensure any potential issues within the audit are addressed.
  • Provide support to establish and develop schedules and analytics to support the process in a user- friendly and future proof way.
  • Collate and framework the supporting documentation to the audit report.
  • Help deliver the fundamental framework of the report and assist with the production of the Annual Report
Management Accounts, reporting and analysis:
  • Completion and review of key monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Posting relevant journals (e.g., prepayments schedule) to ensure delivery of accurate month end accounts.
  • Run all relevant Income and Expenditure reports and analyse any variances in relevant to budget & forecast.
  • Analyse Income for the month end and ensure Income is released on timely basis to I&E
  • Monthly completion of Investment & Pension postings
  • Manage the completion of staff related balance sheet reconciliations, to set deadlines.
  • Coordinate with the HR team for monthly payroll review.
  • Work with the Financial Services team to ensure Salary P&L is posted in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist in production of monthly group management accounts.
  • Assist with the production of monthly papers and reports board
Process/control:
  • Support the successful delivery of the D365 system and CPM tool.
  • Help to drive process change, advising and embedding best practice and compliance with the latest finance regulations, utilising prior experience and knowledge of the charity sector.
  • Ensure opportunities are sought and the action taken to ensure enhanced controls are embedded into all Finance processes and procedures. This includes any output from internal audits.
  • Identity, present and implement opportunities to make improvements to finance processes in support of future year end activities.
  • Propose measures, give insight and where agreed with the Financial Controller, implement processes to improve our controls and ensure that we are adhering to best practice.
