Job Description

Are you an experienced and compassionate paediatrician seeking a rewarding opportunity in community-based healthcare Day Webster Recruitment Agency is pleased to announce an exciting vacancy for a Community Paediatrics Consultant to join a dedicated teamof healthcare professionals committed to delivering high-quality care to children and families in the community.Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in community paediatrics, delivering holistic and family-centered care to children and young people with complex medical, developmental, and social needs
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate individualized care plans for patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including health visitors, school nurses, therapists, and social workers, to optimize outcomes and support families
  • Coordinate and oversee the management of paediatric services in the community, including clinics, outreach programs, and specialist services, ensuring timely access to appropriate interventions and support services
  • Participate in child protection and safeguarding procedures, working closely with partner agencies and local authorities to identify and respond to child welfare concerns in accordance with statutory guidelines and best practice principles
  • Provide expert advice and consultation to primary care providers, schools, and other community stakeholders on paediatric health issues, promoting health education, preventative care, and early intervention strategies
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, engaging in audit, research, and clinical governance activities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of community paediatric services
  • Act as a mentor and educator to junior medical staff, trainees, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, providing guidance, supervision, and support for professional development and training
Requirements:
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) or equivalent qualification
  • Substantial experience working as a Consultant in Community Paediatrics or a related speciality, with expertise in the assessment and management of children with complex needs in community settings
  • Excellent clinical skills and the ability to provide evidence-based, patient-centred care, demonstrating empathy, sensitivity, and respect for cultural and social diversity
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with children, families, and external stakeholders
  • Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning, with a proactive approach to staying abreast of developments in paediatric practice, policy, and research
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of application
