Job Description

Menzies Distribution are looking for aNightshift Supervisorbased inEast Kilbride.This role is based on a hours working pattern, MondayFriday13:00pm-23:00pm.The main responsibility will be to continue the East Kilbride delivery plan and administration into the evening. This role will cover various tasks including supervision of evening drivers, building efficient routes whilst maximizing vehicle capacity, ensuringall work is distributed whilst complying with Transport Legislation, Health & Safety and customer service requirements.Relevant COVID-19 precautions will be taken during the recruitment process for this roleDuties:

  • Ensure customer deliveries utilizing the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met.
  • Ensure customers internally & externally are fully aware of any delays and possible issues with delivery.
  • Develop back haul lanes with both BDL depots and 3rd party customers whilst maintaining fleet utilization.
  • Source local agency drivers as and when required (COPA) providing an accurate brief of job required.
  • Source local sub contractors as and when required.
  • Pre-Briefing of Drivers is to ensure that they fully understand their instructions.
  • De-Briefing of Drivers upon their return to ensure that all documentation has been completed correctly.
  • Ensure compliance with Agency Driver checklist.
  • Communicate routes to and liaise with other Bibby Depots.
  • Record trailer information on all inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailers.
  • Resource and completion of jobs on the TMS system.
  • Filing, Scanning and various administrative tasks.
  • Agency induction pack management.
  • Driver Pre check audits.
  • Inspect returning vehicles for damage
Requirements:
  • Driver management skills
  • Experience of working in a busy Transport office
  • Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Good standard of education
  • IT literate
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Knowledge of transport systems.
  • Excellent Transport Knowledge
  • IT Literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Highly competent and strong organisational ability
  • Fully competent in the management of Subcontractors
