Senior CDP - Cromwell Hospital - Earls Court £14.06 Per Hour This role is to assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to achieve the highest standards of food production and customer satisfaction, contribute to the achievement of Gross Profit targets, maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, work effectivelywith other colleagues and kitchen and other departments, and provide effective internal service. As part of this role, you will be assisting in creating and baking the majority of our desserts we serve to our patients; a Pastry Chef is a skilled culinary professional who specializes in creating a wide variety of delicious desserts, pastries, and sweetgoods. They have expertise in baking techniques, recipe development, and pastry decoration, using their creativity to craft enticing treats. MAIN DUTIES• Assist the head chef and sous chef in providing catering service to customers and clients• Assist the executive chef in covering for the sous chef when on leave• Assist in maintaining an efficient ordering system in accordance with company policy• Assist in maintaining an efficient kitchen record system in line with company policy• Manage deliveries and stock rooms in line with company policy• Control stock; reduce waste and drive sales• Complete all records as directed accurately and in a timely manner• Provide efficient and friendly service to customers and serve customers in a timely and efficient manner if required• Ensure all areas within kitchen control are clean, hygienic and tidy at all times• Ensure the safety and security of company and client property and money• Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures and statutory regulations relating to your workplace; this will include but is not limited to fire, health and safety, hygiene, working safely, and CoSHH.• Report all complaints and compliments to the line manager, taking action where practicable• Report any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities to line manager, taking appropriate action where possible Person Specifications• Is passionate about delivering a world class service to our clients and customers• Is able to work as a team but also willing to act on their own initiative• Acts with honesty and integrity• Previous experience supervising frontline teams within a similar environment• Good communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of team members and customers within your work environment• Able to comply with legislation and follow all rules and regulation laid down in the staff handbook and unit policy statements, with regard to uniform, personal hygiene, health and safety• Criminal Records Bureau security checks required where applicable in accordance with Employment Law and Legislation Part of Compass Group UK&I, Medirest is the specialist healthcare operating company of Compass Group UK & Ireland, providing a full range of hotel services, including staff, patient and visitor catering, domestics, portering, security and reception, at over130 NHS Trusts and private hospitals.Job Reference: com/1812/96112001/52422334/ONECompass Group UK&I wants everyone in our business to feel able to be themselves at work and to have an equal opportunity to progress their career.
