Job Description

Outreach and Engagement Officer£27k-£29kPart-Time - 21-28 hoursOffice bases in Greenford, Acton and West EalingAre you self-motivated, able to take a flexible and creative approach to your work and excited by the opportunity to establish new support services for carers in EalingThen we would like to hear from you!Main purpose of role:

  • To develop support services for unpaid family carers living or providing care to a resident of the London Borough of Ealing, with a particular focus on the development of a training and activities programme for adult carers
  • To work across the Ealing Carers Partnership and with other external partners to develop a coordinated and comprehensive annual programme that is based on what carers say they need.
  • To establish and support the delivery of four Carer Cafes per month covering the following geographies: a) Northolt and Greenford b) Southall c) South Ealing and d) Perivale and West Ealing
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A good standard of basic education with English and Maths GCSE
  • Experience of organising public events and an awareness of relevant legislative requirements, such as risk assessments and health and safety considerations
  • Experienced in using all Microsoft Office applications and managing own computer work
  • Experience of giving emotional support over the phone and face-to-face
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • An awareness and understanding of the issues affecting unpaid family carers
