Job Description

Farm Shop Retail Manager, Full time role, 40 hours per week, Family business £27-30kA rare opportunity has arisen to work for an award winning and well respected farm shop and cafe with an unprecedented reputation for local and home produced fresh foods, so if you are looking for a new challenge and food is your passion this is an absolutedream of a role !You will be leadingthe retail operation and managing a team of full and part time colleagues with an eye on the stock and merchandising.So, what will you be doing as the Farm Shop Retail Manager

  • Lead on buying activities across the business for both the food and gift sections.
  • Ensure that stock is ordered in a correct and timely manner to ensure that all produce and gifts reflect seasonal changes and events.
  • Monitor stock holdings and ensure that they are within agreed levels.
  • Monitor and reduce wastage across the retail area to minimal levels.
  • Identify aged and redundant stock items and ensure they are moved on efficiently and profitable
  • Merchandise the retail display area for food and gifts, ensuring that all products are displayed clearly, are accurately priced and signage is correct and up to date.
  • Identifying new sales opportunities and bring them in to the retail area swiftly.
  • Identifying appropriate promotions that link across the business.
  • Analysing sales performance daily and weekly.
  • Investigating budget anomalies across the retail area.
  • Ensuring that stock is managed against budgets and target margins are maintained and exceeded.
  • Managing and recruiting for a small team of full and part time colleagues
  • Managing the day to day running of the business in the absence of Operations Manager & Directors.
