FIBRE-OPTIC DESIGN ENGINEER / TORQUAY - PERMANENT VACANCYLocation: Torquay, DevonJob type: Permanent contractHours: Monday to Thursday 08:15am - 17:00pm & Friday 08:00am - 14:00pmSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceHawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for Optical Design Engineers to join our clients manufacturing site in Torquay on a permanent basis.The successful candidate will be part of a global team to develop a range of products with applications across various markets involving a range of tasks related to the design, prototype assembly and test of fibre-optic and photonic based sub-systems.We are looking to speak with candidates with a knowledge in fibre-optics, photonics and related technologies, open to applications from graduate up to senior level.Duties & responsibilities:

      Design and development of photonics and / or fibre-optic components, modules and sub-systems
Utilise fibre optic and opto-electronic components to develop cutting edge productsActive involvement in prototype build and testPresent results clearly and concisely for both internal and external customersWorking within a multidisciplinary team that includes mechanical and electronic design engineersAbout you:
      Degree or PhD in Engineering or Physics with Optics, Photonics or Fibre Optics bias
Broad knowledge in fibre-optics, photonics and related technologiesSelf starter and capable of working under own initiativeAble to progress projects and trouble-shoot problems with little supervisionA PhD in a relevant field would be advantageousExperience in design and development of fibre-optic and free-space transmission systems would be advantageousBenefits:
