Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will participate on a full shift working pattern. Please note that this post is not recognised for training purposes, however the successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in teaching, audit and research where possible.We offer a friendly and supportive working atmosphere, as well as opportunities for you to develop your knowledge and skills.The Anaesthetic Department sits within the Directorate of Clinical Support Services in the University Health Board which constitutes Anaesthetics, Critical Care, Theatres, Pharmacy, Sterile Services and Radiology. The department itself includes 75 ConsultantAnaesthetists complemented by 52 training grade doctors and a total of 24 Associate Specialists and Specialty Doctors, who provide resident cover at the hospital. Critical Care also provides Anaesthetic Consultant sessions.The Service is led by the Clinical Director for Anaesthetics and 7 Anaesthetic Clinical Leads.The Anaesthetic Department also provides an Acute and Chronic Pain Service, Pre- operative Assessment Service, Cardio-Pulmonary Exercise Testing and is supporting the upcoming development of a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit for the Health Board, as well as twoEnhanced Recovery Units. Anaesthetic services are provided for both emergency and elective patients from the Health Boards catchment area.Person SpecificationQualificationEssential
