Job Description

Engagement Officer Needed for PRU Secondary Setting �Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people facing challenges in their education journey Academics Agency is seeking a dedicated Engagement Officer to work within a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) Secondary Setting. If youre enthusiastic,compassionate, and driven to empower students to reach their full potential, we want to hear from you!Position: Engagement Officer, Location: PRU Secondary Setting/SheffieldContract Type: Full-time, Permanent, Salary: Competitive, based on experience, Start Date: ImmediateKey Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with students, providing support and guidance to enhance their engagement with learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address behavioural challenges and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to inform personalized interventions and support plans.
  • Organize and facilitate enrichment activities and extracurricular programs to promote social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Act as a liaison between students, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for student well-being.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people in a similar setting, ideally within a PRU or alternative provision environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards working in a dynamic and sometimes unpredictable environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, social work, education, or a related field would be advantageous.
