Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Support Assistant at Doncaster Council. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 2 - 3 months, with the possibility of extension.What is the roleDoncaster Council are looking for a Business Support Assistant within the Executive Team for the next 2 - 3 months, your role will be to provide effective, professional, high quality, modern and solution focused Business Support for the Directorate and worktogether with the wider Business Support and Development Service as one unified Service to continually improve the efficiency and quality of the services provided.What are your responsibilitiesThe post will be undertaking business support duties. The ideal candidate will have experience of providing high level administrative support in a busy office. There will be an expectation to assist across all areas of our service. They should be well-organisedand flexible and have excellent customer service skills and experience of working to conflicting deadlines. We are looking for a hardworking and conscientious person to work in a busy environment, providing an essential and valuable service to our customers.You will need to be well-organised and flexible and have excellent customer service skills and experience of working to conflicting deadlines.   • taking minutes at high level meetings
  • taking telephone calls from members of the public
  • dealing with enquiries from the public, officers of the authority and other key stakeholders
  • sending out letters
  • data analysis
  • supporting the directorate to respond to confidential enquiries and complaints.
  • using the Council’s IT systems to input data, word process letters, memoranda, and reports
  • undertaking research, collating findings, and summarising information
  • maintaining accurate records both manually and electronically and producing data for statutory returns and/or statistical reports.
The post holder should have a high level of experience in providing professional business support and be able to provide high level technical support and advice to our service users.What skills do you Need
  • Must have Business Support / Administration experience.
  • Excellent People skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and senior managers.
  • Strong IT Skills would be required, as you will be using Microsoft office packages including word and excel, including internal council IT systems as well.
  • Excellent minute taking experience in high level meetings.
  • Excellent Telephone Manner and Communication Skills
  • Woking hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 17.00pm – 37 hours a week in total, with a minimum of 2 days based in the office a week.
