Are you ready to play your partWe have an exciting opportunity for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with post graduate training to join our Red Cell Immunohaematology (RCI) Laboratory. Our laboratory currently in Sheffield provides reference and blood provision services to regional hospitals using advanced red cell serology. Our work includes the investigation of immune haemolytic disorders, the resolution of blood group anomalies, complex red cell antibody problems, feto-maternal haemorrhage estimations by flow cytometry and the provision of blood for specific patients. We also provide routine testing and assessment of antibody levels in antenatal samples and undertake routine antenatal screening.You’ll join our friendly team and play an important role performing, analysing and interpreting a wide range of specialist scientific and technical procedures and investigations relating to the issue of results for transplant patients and donors impacting directly on patient care. We will provide you with extensive induction and training and ongoing development to support you in this role and achieve your career ambitions.Working within a laboratory that promotes the highest standards, you will be expected to participate in the out of hours on-call rota after suitable training.You will be an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with significant post registration experience, you’ll have a specialist qualification in Transfusion Science/Haematology. In return you’ll benefit from an excellent pension, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, using modern equipment and practices, where you can develop your specialist skills and scientific education.Current hours covered by the laboratory are Monday to Friday between 8am & 10pm, and Saturday between 9am & 5pm.
