Job Description

John Ashley Recruitment are delighted to be exclusively recruiting a premium role of Health, Safety and Environment Manager for this well established organisation which has shown real growth with continuous investment in its people and infrastructure.This person will have the autonomy to plan, implement and review HSEQ policy for a high performing business. A knowledge of supply chain, logistics, manufacturing and warehousing would be an advantage.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal and external SHE audits to assess project /operational compliance with applicable SHE regulatory requirements, corporate standards, or international standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of Health & Safety management ensuring standardisation and adherence to best practice
  • Review, implement and maintain procedures to ensure safe working practices and compliance with Health & Safety legislation
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and to identify hazards and allocating actions ensuring closure
  • Conduct and check risk assessments, considering how risk can be mitigated/minimised and train others to ensure on-going maintenance
  • Conducting Environmental audits and inspections and ensure all policy and procedures are adhered to and to assist in the continual improvement plans
    • What we are looking for:
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Diploma level in Environmental management
  • Auditing Experience ISO14001/ISO 45001
    • Personal Skills:
  • Leadership and performance management including coaching & mentoring
  • Stakeholder management including influencing and negotiation skills
  • High level of drive and commitment - Results Driven
  • Numerate and analytical skills
  • Good Business and Product knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in implementation & design of KPI’s
    • Technical skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstration of working well within teams.
  • IT literate
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 50001 and 45001 philosophy and principles
  • Knowledge and expertise of HSE management (strategic and operational) practices, standards, systems and processes relevant to the operations of the group.
