Job Description

Mechanical Draughtsperson / Design Engineer

  • Excellent salary in-line with level of experience £35,000 - £45,000, plus overtime.
  • Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Our client, a well established and very successfulIntegrated Machinery Design, Manufacturer & Installation company in Norfolk,is looking for an experiencedDesign Engineer.To carry out a hands-on draughting/drawing role as described below.The Designer draughtsperson will be expectedto use solid works & some AutoCAD, to be able to come up with ideas to provide sound designs that are efficient to manufacture.Role of the Mechanical Draughtsperson:
  • To produce assembly drawings to meet the clients technical design brief
  • Liaise with sales & operations to ensure designs are met tospecification.
  • Liaise with purchasing to procure parts.
  • Preparation of contract documentation
  • Liaise with Production to provide detailed instructions
  • Design within current H&S guidelines & customer specific health & safety requirements.
  • Troubleshoot production problems
  • Attend customers site as required for site surveys
Qualifications required for theMechanical Draughtsperson / Design Engineer:
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification desirable
  • Draughting or Mechanical Design Experience essential
Knowledge and Skills required for theMechanical Draughtsperson / Design Engineer:
  • Good working knowledge of 2D and 3D (Solidworks and AutoCAD)
  • Able to read & comprehend written & verbal instructions, technical specifications, detailed drawings & other similar authorised documents.
  • Good decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Good PC skills including Outlook, Word and Excel
