Job Description

Partnership and Commercial Transformation OfficerRole OverviewAt City College Plymouth, we are on a journey of culture change and transformation. As we adapt to the new normal under CV19, we are thinking ahead as to how we deliver our vision and strategic aims and put the College in a strong position to grow and transform.We have an ambitious agenda for the next 10 years, including the remodelling of the entire college over the next 12 months.To support and drive this change, we are looking to recruit a Partnership and Commercial Transformation Officer to develop our commercial strategy and support us in our thinking and planning.This is a critical role for the College. As such, we are looking for an experienced commercially minded individual who can quickly move us forward.This individual will take the lead in identifying and maximising new business and change opportunities and will work with the senior management team and existing staff to understand current approaches and make recommendations to ensure that we are fit for the future, in line with our inclusive culture and shared values.Role Deliverables:

  1. Development of a commercial strategy for the next 10 years that outlines the growth potential for the college and enables the delivery of the financial strategy.
  2. Working with the HR Director to review our current functions and approaches to commercial activity in conjunction with the wider organisational redesign programme and to identify commercial skills requirements for the workforce.
  3. Working with the Director of Creative, Cultural and Digital to align commercial and digital approaches and strategies to ensure the college is fit for the future.
  4. Alignment of activity across all strategic actions to ensure that a commercial approach is embedded in our culture and ways of working.
Role Details
  • Full-time, permanent, reporting directly to the Principal and Chief Executive
  • Requirements
  • An FE background is not essential, we are open to all sectors and welcome insight from outside of FE, what is critical is that you can quickly get to grips with the FE environment and apply this to the role deliverables.
  • Ability to quickly build credible relationships both across City College Plymouth and externally with all partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial background with evidence of enabling growth, building strong strategic partnerships and opportunity identification and exploitation.
  • Experience of successfully working with internal stakeholders to align culture, structure and ways of working to a commercial approach.
