Job Description

Qualified Social Worker - Devon - Childrens Assessment & Intervention TeamAssessment & Intervention, Exeter, Devon.We are seeking experienced social workers to support our children and young people in South Devon. This is a fantastic opportunity to build meaningful and positive relationships with children, young people, and families; working closely with them to achievepositive outcomes that are family led, built on strengths, and achieve safety and stability keeping them safe through their childhood and beyond. Currently the Local Authority is working under an Ofsted Improvement Plan therefore we need experienced, robustsocial workers who have experience of good practice and are able to model this across the service with peers.About our Assessment TeamTo support the children and families teams we have added 3 Specialist Practitioners to support with specialist assessments such as Reg 24s, VAs, Pre birth and Parenting Assessments. This supports the throughput within the court arena and allows practitionersto focus on the day to day assessments and interventions with children and families.Our Assessment team is responsible for carrying out Child and Family Assessments and, when necessary, section 47 Child Protection enquiries to decide whether a child is in need of support from our Children and Families teams, requires protection or shouldbe taken into care. Our team of Social Workers, ASYEs and Family Practitioners are managed and supported by the team Managers.You will need to commit to being in Devon every other week for a full week to support duty and be able and available to travel to Devon the alternate week in order to support seeing children in a timely manner, working directly with families and also attendto any emergencies or s47 on your cases.An agreed weekly agency accommodation / commuter travel allowance of up to £150 per week is offered for those living 50 miles or more from their work base. These claims to be evidenced with receipts.Benefits in this role:* Supportive team and management* Flexible working available* Long term contract* Progression opportunitiesYour main responsibilities include:* Hold and effectively manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision, guidance, and support, reflecting the function of the team and the Vulnerable People Service in accordance with policy, procedures, guidance and legislation.* Undertake work within legislative frameworks including the preparation of written statements and representations to the judiciary at Court hearings.* You will be accountable for complex decision making in relation to caseloads ensuring professional judgement, service user involvement, needs led assessment, critical reflection, and analysis to inform this.* You will identify and assess levels of risk and need (within statutory frameworks) in often complex situations. Undertake safeguarding investigations and deliver protective and/or supportive services for individuals at risk and maintain up to date assessments,care plans and reviews.* You will be preparing statements of need/care and support plans, in consultation with other agencies as appropriate, that reflect the wishes of the individual and lead to the commissioning of personalised packages of care.* You will undertake direct work with adults and their families in line with care plans.* You will work co-operatively with both internal and external colleagues across multi - agency boundaries.Essential requirements:* Social Work England registration* Eligible to work in the UK* 2 years+ post-qualified experience* Degree level or equivalent in Social WorkBenefits of working with Remedy
