Job Description

Temporary Building Surveyor Temporary Opportunity via BRCJobs: Building Surveyor Location: Devon Sector: Housing & Property Duration: 2-3 Months with possibility of extension Hourly rate: £23.64 Including holiday pay / £26.50 Umbrella Start Date: ASAP BRC are working with a Local Authority in Devon to recruit an interim building surveyor. Our client is looking for an experienced professional to identify, inspect, and provide solutions to problems and defects with their non residential properties in Devon.Main Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct property inspections to identify building fabric defects, reactive demand, prioritised planned works and designed programmed projects to deliver fit for purpose property across the Corporate Property service
  2. Carry out reactive building fabric surveys for minor works on commercial properties across Exeter
  3. Lead in ensuring that Corporate Property building fabric is constructed and maintained in accordance with relevant legislation and approved codes of practice in all areas including; foundations, structural elements, roofing systems, facades and curtainwalling and internal works
  4. Work closely with clients, building managers, leaseholders, building users, contractors and statutory bodies to ensure that the Corporate Estate and all unit operations are compliant with current and future building fabric legislation
  5. To oversee effective budget and performance management of contracts for which responsibility is held
  6. Adhere to the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) and COSHH Regulations during the planning, design and execution of works
  7. Act on instructions from the Compliance Team to resolve significant or Health and Safety defects in building fabric; actively monitor and progress the delivery of defect resolutions and provide coordinated information to enable property records to be maintainedto evidence compliance
Job Requirements:
  1. HND / HNC level in construction/building qualification
  2. Good understanding and knowledge of utilising IT software including Microsoft Office
  3. A driver with access to own vehicle
