Job Description

Buyer - FurnitureDevon - Hybrid working available£45000 + BenefitsI am currently recruiting for an experienced Category Buyer to join a well-known and expanding High Street retailer to join the Furniture category. This is a great opportunity for a strong trading focused experienced Furniture Buyer / Category Manager tojoin the team.You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Buying to deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the department. As aCategory Buyer some of your duties will include.

  • Building & maintaining strong relationships with current suppliers
  • Ensuring selected product lines achieve season defined timeframes.
  • Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices.
  • Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines.
  • Attending trade shows / outlets, supplier markets
  • Negotiate the best possible contracts & terms.
  • Working closely with the individual stores to streamline any issues.
  • Constant competitor and price analysis to ensuring product offerings stay relevant
  • Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team
Key requirements for the role.
  • Proven previous experience as a Buyer / Category Manager within Furniture
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced market.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
  • Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.
  • Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
