Mechanical Engineer£45,000 - £60,000Permanent roleDevizes, Wiltshire -SN10ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of a team, your duties will include:

• Management of sustaining-related projects, including root cause analysis & correction of defects.
• Develop solutions to improve products, through modifications, technical documentation, or process improvement.
• Work in collaboration with other departments and vendors to determine product design requirements and identify design improvements.
• Coordinate and lead project teams to develop innovative product designs that meet or exceed customer expectations as well as agency standards.
• Complete risk analyses, design calculations, FMEAs and design reviews to verify that designs meet or exceed product specifications.
• Develop effective test plans, coordinate, and lead efforts to test solutions, and use statistical methods to verify performance.
• Develop and create 3D models, generate detailed engineering drawings and technical files to document the designs.
• Maintain all project documentation, in line with company procedures, to ensure accurate handover to production and compliance with relevant standards.
• Work with global Operations teams to ensure the product is manufacturable within cost and Quality expectations.
• Present regular project updates to management.
• Provides supervision and guidance as appropriate and acts as a problem-solving resource to other engineering staff.
• Coordinate requalification and / or testing required to maintain third party product approvals.
• Providing technical support to our frontline technical support team and other internal stakeholders.

Qualificationsand Skills

• Proficiency with SolidworksDemonstrable problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of testing and product approval processes (EN, ANSI and CSA Preferred)
• Knowledge and understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively with others in a dynamic team environment.
• Solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence attitudes and behaviors.
• Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex tasks, solve technical problems, anticipate issues and challenges, make sound technical decisions, and work effectively in diverse cross-functional teams.
• A growth mindset: a desire to learn and develop.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Familiarity with statistical analysis.
