Job Description

Quantity SurveyorRenewable Energy - Commercial Solar PVDerbyshire£50,000 - £60,000 + PackageTo actively support the Commercial Team, Head of Commercial (Jobs) and the Senior Commercial Manager in the review of the "Jobs" element of works - labour hours, associated plant & material costs and management of subcontractors. Responsibilities

  • Examine accuracy and quality of allocation sheets/timesheet data system for missing and inaccurate information, investigating any issues arising and process corrections.
  • Manage the Jobs applications for the required OUs
  • Review the agreed labour hours from the allocation sheets/timesheet data system
  • Work with the commercial and operational teams to finalise the database into a final application for payment and assist with any discrepancies.
  • Assisting with any other ad-hoc commercial management requests - "trouble shooting"
  • Maintenance and system administration of the timesheet data system, ensuring accurate information is maintained at all times, ensuring process and policy is adhered to.
  • Support in the monthly applications of the jobs
  • Review and monitoring of sub-con payments
  • Managing framework agreements
Main Duties
  • Role will be both site & office based, main area of operations will be mobile across the UK
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, issue and collate responses preparing recommendations (working with PM)
  • Undertake cost analysis
  • Assist in establishing a clients requirements and undertake feasibility studies, prepare and issue cost models where requests arise
  • Undertake cash flow forecast on projects of a complex programme
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control
  • Advise on a procurement strategy
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
  • Allocate work to subcontractors
  • Provide advice on contractual claims
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  • Value completed work and arrange payments
  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • Month end reporting and financial reconciliation of cost & value
  • Use of CEMAR and other client focused tools to administer both NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
  • Author, check and publish contracts

  • Previous experience in a payroll, accounts or data management environment.

  • Be able to provide both summarised and detailed reports, on current operations department activities when requested to do so.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of different software packages, Word, Excel, Outlook, with an emphasis on Excel skills.
