Job Description

New Quality Engineer position at Forged Solutions Group who aspire to be the preferred global partner of choice in the supply of forged products for our customers most demanding end applications. From aerospace and energy production to underground miningand off-highway vehicles, we have forged solutions for advanced manufacturing industries for more than 100 years.Client DetailsAcross established sites in the UK and in areas renowned for excellence in complex metal working, Forged Solutions Group manufactures shafts, rings, discs, asymmetric forgings and extruded cylinders in a range of titanium, nickel, and steel alloys. ForgeSolutions is now looking to recruit new a new Quality Engineer to join the expanding, developing quality team based at Darley Dale in Derbyshire.DescriptionAs the Quality Engineer based at Darley Dale in Derbyshire you will provide Quality Engineering and systems support for Operations and Quality/Technical departments by ensuring that products and processes are maintained in line with business and customerrequirements. Has the ability to respond to the needs of the business and embrace change. Heavily involved in Teamwork and Continuous Improvement.Key Tasks and Accountabilities

  • Investigate and resolve customer returns and complaints.
  • Required to develop a strong process-based knowledge.
  • Assist with investigation and resolution of external non-conformances and report sub-contract quality performance via scorecard process.
  • Represent Quality Team at Supplier/Customer external meetings.
  • Implement and monitor robust actions using a DMAIC/8D process.
  • Use of internal non-conformance database to analyse trends and liaise with the continuous improvement team to implement improvement activities.
  • Participate in multi discipline teams to address issues aligned to the achievement of Company objectives.
  • Participate in and support product and process continuous improvement activities based on a range of tools and techniques.
  • To carry out inspection quality control activities involved in delivering continuous improvement in product quality and business objectives.
  • Direct involvement in the application of inspection tools, techniques and systems.
  • Communicate quality statistics and improvement activities.
  • Perform internal and external audits of our business and sub-contract base.
  • Support the establishment of the necessary Quality Management Systems, to ensure the business unit performance and product and process quality improvement.
  • Prepare internal and customer quality reports as required.
  • To compile and maintain higher level quality documents as required.
ProfileThis role offers the ideal candidate a platform for further career development within Forged Solutions Group. For the right candidate and experience gained, this role can lead to further opportunities within the quality or alternative departments.Experience Required
  • Academic qualifications (i.e. HNC / ONC / Degree).
  • Alternatively, appropriate demonstrable experience will be considered.
  • Experience in similar industry would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working with customers, suppliers and awarding bodies.
  • Knowledge of OEM technical requirements would be advantageous.
Job OfferSalary will be £30,000 to £39,000 per year, with standard working hours per week will be 37 hours per week. The position is required to work such hours as necessary in order to satisfactorily perform the role.
