ForgeSolutions is now looking to recruit new a New NDT Manager, Level 3 to join the expanding, developing team based at Darley Dale in Derbyshire.DescriptionDue to internal changes and investment, Forged Solutions are now looking to recruit an NDT Manager, Level 3 to join the team based in Darley Dale, Derbyshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive organisation who have aglobal, blue-chip customer base.The Responsible NDT Level 3 acts on behalf of FSDD in matters regarding the NDT qualification and certification process and the technical supervision of NDT inspection processes. The Level 3 shall be certified as an EN4179/NAS410 Level 3 in at least oneor more NDT methods and shall have a thorough knowledge of the written instructions, codes, specifications and standards used by FSDD.

  • Having the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the NDT method(s) and evaluating and documenting process changes and obtaining customer approval, when required.
  • Assuming technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff, including customer contract review and the sequencing of NDT operations prior to processing hardware.
  • Identifying opportunities to utilise new/improved technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy of NDT inspection.
  • Ensuring that all necessary calibrations and procedures are up to date with current NDT method requirements.
  • Supporting production with any technical issues related to the process and provide a point of contact responsibility for customers regarding product issues and concerns.
  • Selecting and effectively implementing the method and technique for a specific inspection.
  • Implement customer requirements into company procedures or work instructions and assure that sample frequencies are correct.
  • Preparing and verifying the technical adequacy of procedures and work instructions, including development, approval and continuous improvement.
  • Have a general knowledge of other NDT methods and product manufacturing and inspection technologies used.
  • The technical content and criteria for training of NDT personnel.
  • Providing or directing training, examination and certification of personnel.
  • Conduct NDT for the acceptance of parts and document results if a demonstration of proficiency in this ability was included in the practical examination.
  • Performing annual reviews/spot checks of Level 1 and Level 2 personnel.
  • Performing over-inspection of hardware as directed by the cognisant engineering facility.
  • Determining the proficiency of each NDT candidate for Level 1 and Level 2 certification.
  • Perform or delegate qualification and requalification of the Level 1 and Level 2 personnel as applicable, in accordance with this written practice.
  • Notify customers of all major changes to the NDT quality system, including NDT equipment and location of NDT equipment.
  • The performance of an annual audit of each NDT system and document results, using a comprehensive internal or NADCAP checklist.
  • Auditing FSDD sub-contract NDT suppliers to ensure compliance to the relevant requirements
  • Mastering test samples for use in FSDD practical exams
ProfileTo apply for the NDT Manager, Level 3 based at Darley Dale in Derbyshire you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Certified EN4179/NAS410 Level 3 in Ultrasonic testing (UT) with immersion disc inspection experience and level 3 certification in PT, MT or VT preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years as NDT Level 2 in relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret relevant codes and standards.
  • Determined, quality orientated, organised and disciplined.
  • Committed to using own initiative to deliver results.
  • Able to uphold and maintain systems/standards.
  • Focused on continuous improvement.
  • Good communicator and listener, Team player.
Job OfferYou will work at the Darley Dale Site with a salary of £40,000 to £55,000 depending on background knowledge. This role offers the ideal candidate a platform for further career development within Forged Solutions Group.
