Lead Therapeutic Practitioner (6734) Action for Children Salary: Up to £36,700 per annumContract/Hours: Permanent, Full Time - 37 hours a week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on some occasions 7pm. We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to their lives.Aboutthe Role: Action for Children were commissioned by Derbyshire and Derby City Councils and Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group earlier this year to deliver an innovative new service. The service aims to improve placement stability for looked afterchildren and to reduce the number of children whose emotional needs are met outside the area by delivering therapeutic interventions locally, close to where they live.Support will focus on children in care with the most complex needs and with significant adversechildhood experiences. The service will use trauma informed practice and attachment theory and provide a range of evidence-based interventions including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Theraplay, PACE and systemic therapy.The service will operate from9am to 5pm with the potential need to work until 7pm on some occasions as children and carers require and directly support children placed within 25 miles of the Derby/Derbyshire border.In addition to being an experienced therapeutic practitioner working directlywith young people, and their networks, we are also particularly interested in applicants with experience of facilitating group work such as group reflection and group programmes or those who have experience of supporting children displaying harmful sexualbehaviours.As a Lead Therapeautic Practitioner you will be... -Working therapeutically with children and young people, parents and foster carers. This will include, but not be limited to, trauma informed approaches, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Theraplay.-Deliveringgroup work with fosters and with childrens groups.-Providing Consultations and Reflective Practice sessions for residential carer staff, foster carers and other social care professionals.-Providing training in therapeutic approaches for foster carers andsocial care professionals-Supported in practice with reflective supervision with a Practice Manager and Clinical Supervisor.-Able to access training and development opportunities to enhance your practice in the above.What Youll Bring:Our job description forthe Lead Therapeutic Practitioner outlines the requirements of the role but the must-haves are:- A professional qualification as a Social Worker, Therapist, relevant Health qualification or equivalent.- Significant experience of working therapeutically withchildren.- Experience of working with children and young people with complex needs.- Good communication skills, both written and spoken, including use of IT and digital systems.- You will need to be a Driver as the role will involve travelling.Working hereis so much more than a job.
