Job Description

A housing association based in South East London is in urgent need of a Housing Support Officer to start on a part time basis for 3 months initiallyStructure of the RoleRole: Housing Support OfficerLocation: South East LondonPart time - 15 hours per week - Monday, Wednesday and FridayThere are 2 shifts and atleast one late shift must be worked atleast once a weekEarly Shift - 10am -3pm Late Shift- 3:30pm - 8:30pmDuration: 3 months initiallyPlease note that due to the nature of the role it is not a work from home role and will require travel to the office.Job Essence:The HSO is responsible for helping the co-op to achieve its goals and to meet its obligations as a social landlord by providing an efficient and professional on-site service and by co-ordinating effective support services. They will ensure that service is attentive, responsive and offers quality, reliability and value for money. The HSO will have primary responsibility for the delivery of services and for meeting the obligations of the management contractKey Responsibilities:Supporting the Management Committee:- Develop, manage and maintain effective relationships with Members of the Management Committee supporting members with their administrative needs;- Regularly report to Housing Association on the contractual obligations, attending committee meetings when requested. Attend monthly management committee meetings.- Act as the primary liaison between Housing Association and other organisations on service delivery issues;- Provide support for democratic processes and effective member control, including governance advice where necessary;- Help Housing Association to develop its operational plans in the context of its business plan and strategic objectives;Housing Management:- Provide a ‘One Stop Shop’ service for residents, responding to all resident and member enquiries or requests quickly and effectively;- Carry out all housing management duties as required under the management agreement, including lettings, rent collection and debt recovery, tenancy enforcement, estate management and repairs & maintenance;- Maintain contract standards in relation to client and customer care;- Actively engage with residents using various mediums and maintain an excellent awareness of their needs, including any vulnerability issues;- Maximise rent and service charge income by taking appropriate action to control and recover rent, service charges and other debt in line with agreed policies and procedures;- Carry out estate inspections and home visits as required and quickly resolve identified issues;- Ensure that estate health and safety matters are monitored and issues quickly resolved;- Ensure that void properties are dealt with in line with allocations policies and the voids management process, with properties re-let in within agreed targets;Repairs & Maintenance:- Deal with all responsive repair requests, raising orders or tendering for works as appropriate, monitoring progress and completion of works and keeping residents updated;- Take the lead in co-ordinating planned or cyclical maintenance work ensuring that consultation with tenants and leaseholders is carried out in accordance with Housing Association and statutory requirements;- Where required, appoint consultants to specify, tender or manage works in line with Housing Association policy and health and safety and other statutory requirements;- Carry out void inspections and post inspection of day to day repairs works, as required;We are currenlty seeking candidates with a similar experince, backgorund in maintenance/housing/property with excellent customer service and must be availble for an immediate startPlease submit your CVs before the deadline below for considerationDeadline for Applicaitons : Monday 10am 25th January 2020Interivews: Teusday 26th January 2020Consultant - Imran
